EXHIBITION of paintings and drawing titled as ‘Faces of Life’ by Farezeh Syed opened at Al Hamra Art Gallery here on Monday. Principal National College of Arts Prof Naazish Ataullah was the chief guest on this occasion. She inaugurated the ceremony. She also took a round after cutting the ribbon with the organisers, artists and the art lovers. Farezeh has formally studied art at Lahore and then received training in figure drawing and oil painting from New York. She has been painting for the last 20 years and has taught art, written about it and exhibited her work in Lahore, Islamabad and New York. Farezeh’s work portrays the different aspects of life through expression and facial gestures. She has tried to portray almost all kinds of emotions and human behaviours in her paintings and drawings. She also finds the human form inexhaustible as a resource for idea and impressions of life. She loves the beauty that it has to offer and makes all its emotions her guiding force for giving shape and style to her work. Talking to the media, Farezeh said that this exhibition was the result of several years of training, learning and experiences not only painting but the artistic process and its interaction with life, which involved deep perception and compassionate understanding of life and their application. The exhibition will continue till February 6. |
