| Rangers called to assist police |

CAPITAL City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore, has said, besides putting Lahore police on high alert, Rangers have also been called in to maintain law and order during by-poll in the city. The CCPO said over 5,000 police personnel would remain on duty along with Rangers during the polling. He stated this during a shield distribution ceremony held on behalf of the citizens of Muslim Town at Capital City Police Headquarters on Tuesday. He said effective steps had been taken to ensure that citizens did not face any difficulties while visiting offices of police officers. Later, Planning, Finance and Accounts Committee Lahore District Chairman Raja Munawwar distributed shields to the CCPO, Iqbal Town SP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, DSP Muhammad Anwar, Inspector Hammad Akhtar, Sub-Inspector Abdul Wahid, Muhammad Imtiaz, Shaukat Ali, ASI Ghulam Hussain, Constables Mujahid Ali, Ghulam Mustafa, Muhammad Asif, Naveed Ahmed, Muhammad Idrees, Imran Ali, Anwar Baig and Saeed Ahmed. |
